I bought the SnapGrip Creator Kit Pro (shotgun mic included) in Stone for use with my iPhone 16 Pro Max that has a clear case.
1. Well it's gray not stone.
2. There is so much instability with the magnetic strength that I would never, never, never, ever use this kit without a phone case. The grip slips off from my phone case. I removed the case and the grip is better just off the back of the phone. However, the grip is unreliable. Just in trying to set up and use the various pieces/accessories, the phone slips off from the grip.
3. The SnapLight broke in half in trying to remove it from the magnetic back of the Snap Grip.
4. The material of the tripod is very flimsy, not sturdy. the tilt does not securely lock, and there's always risk of toppling over--so again, never, never, never ever use without a protective phone case for falls.
5. Here's the kicker, the shotgun mic uses a 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS data cable. "Connect the other end to the headphone jack of your phone." The iPhone 16 pro max does not have this type of headphone jack. Is that anywhere in the product description? No. Says kit is compatible with iPhone 15 and above. To return it involves a 20% restocking fee.
Overall, deeply disappointed in the quality and function of this kit. I saw it on the Apple website and thought it was worth giving it a go. So I bought on ShiftCam site insight and boy do I have regrets.
I purchased this product for a pending trip to Greece. I can not be happier with its performance. The additional power when needed and the enhanced photography capabilities were awesome. Thank you for providing these with your product. This is a must have! Don’t hesitate to order yours, you won’t regret it.
The snap grip bundle was an easy to use accessory for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. It also connects seamlessly everytime I turn on the bluetooth to capture images. The ability to charge my iPhone was a big help specially during once in a lifetime events. While I actually made a mistake in ordering the snap grip because I wanted the progrip, I nonetheless purchased the pro grip recently and can't wait to use that for our out of town trip soon. All in all, a good and satisfactory purchase.
The problem I have with it is that the plastic ball that is the pivot is a little bit too small and no matter how much you crank down the lock collar to lock it in place it still ends up flexing and moving a little bit thus the phone moves, and that’s kind of annoying. So what I did was take a small piece of rubber that I had and push it inside to give the round ball something to grip on to and now it is very very stable so I give it a three star. I really like it I would’ve liked to give it a five star, but since I had to fix it I don’t think it deserves five stars.
